Our Story
When you grow up with a grandma like Myrtle Gamble Knister Grace – wife more than once, mother to five, writer, painter, stained glass artist and antiques wheeler and dealer with a gift for telling stories, well, you learn that it’s kind of OK to follow your passions. So that’s what Myrtle’s Art & Antiques is – for me a passion.
This allows me the chance to go back to my childhood memories of looking, touching and admiring my grandma’s antiques and art in her various stores throughout Jarvis and Port Dover. I can remember the smell of varnish and wood and the sheen of an ironstone pitcher in her store window. But there will be more shared memories and fun facts – check out our blog.
On this site you’ll find stories, art, and lots of beautiful items handed down over generations. Let’s take a moment to dig through the treasure box that I hope this site is for you, and that you take home something fun and make it part of another story.
I’m a former journalist, entrepreneur, volunteer, traveller, sailor, mom to three, wife to one fellow sailor and old tractor collector (hey I’ve got my thing why shouldn’t he have his?).
My cousin Sarah is joining me for part of the journey and a few others too.
Thanks for checking out this page.
