Leonard C. Lane
Leonard C. Lane (1910-1978) was born in Bristol, England but moved to Nova Scotia later and travelled back and forth from Florida. He served four years in the Royal Canadian Navy in WWII. He experimented with various styles of art with a common theme – the ocean, its lighthouses, ships and came to be known for his realist work. Lane was a member of the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) and the Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference (ARCA) This oil on canvas measures 16 1/2 X 24 ½ and is signed and framed. Lane’s work is in many collections including the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.
